Card Values

  • Any card from 2 to 10 shall have its face value
  • Any Jack, Queen or King shall have the value of 10
  • An Ace card can be counted as 1 or 11, whichever benefits the hand most.
  • A hand consisting of card valued as 10 with an Ace is called Blackjack (applicable to initial 2 cards only)

How To Play Blackjack

To participate in the game, players must place a wager on the designated betting area and may also choose to place an optional Hoiana Pairs side bet.

Once all bets are placed, the Dealer will deal two cards in a sequence, face-up, to each box with valid bet and one card to him/herself.  

After the initial deal, if the Dealer’s card is not an Ace, the Players will be given a chance to surrender half of the wager. If the Dealer’s card is an Ace, insurance will be offered. During the course of game, Players will give the option to Stay, Draw, Split or Double.

After the Players had completed their turn, Dealer draws their cards follow the fixed House rules as follows:

  • For Blackjack version: Dealer draws to 16 and stands on 17
  • For Hoiana Blackjack version: Dealer draws to soft 17 and stands on hard 17

Betting Options

Double Down – Players may double down on the first two cards (except Blackjack) by placing an additional wager (equal or lesser than the original wager) before receiving one additional card. If the Dealer gets Blackjack, Players will only lose the original wager.

Splitting – When the first two cards dealt to a hand are of the same value, Players may split the hand and must place an additional wager equal to the original wager. Players can split up to three times to form a maximum of four hands, except when splitting Aces which can only be split once and receive one additional card only. If the Dealer gets Blackjack, Players will only lose the original wager

Insurance – When the Dealer’s first card is an Ace, Players may insure their wager against the Dealer making a Blackjack by placing an additional wager on Insurance betting area. Insurance bet can be up to half of the original wager and will be paid at the odd of 2 to 1 if Dealer’s hand achieves Blackjack. If the Dealer does not get the Blackjack, the Insurance bet loses.  

Even Money – When the Player’s hand is Blackjack and the Dealer’s card is an Ace, the Players may request for an “Even Money” where the winning wager will be paid at the odd of 1 to 1.

Surrender – Player may choose to surrender their hand after receiving the first two cards and will lose half of their original wager.

Game Rules

Standing players can place wagers, seated player has precedence.
